An Unforgettable Excursion to Ooty and Kodaikanal

Exploring Nature’s Beauty: Our School’s Excursion to Ooty and Kodaikanal

This year, our school organized an exciting excursion to two of the most breathtaking hill stations in South India—Ooty and Kodaikanal. The trip was an opportunity for students to explore the scenic beauty of the Nilgiris and Western Ghats while experiencing the rich culture and history of these iconic destinations. The excursion was not just an escape from the classroom but a chance to connect with nature, learn new things, and create lasting memories.

The journey began early in the morning, with students and teachers eagerly boarding the buses, ready for an adventure. As we made our way through the winding roads, the excitement in the air was palpable. The cool breeze and lush greenery surrounding us were a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Our first destination was Ooty, often referred to as the “Queen of Hill Stations.” The moment we arrived, we were greeted by the mesmerizing views of rolling hills covered with tea plantations. We visited the famous Ooty Lake, where some of us enjoyed a peaceful boat ride, while others marveled at the serenity of the surroundings. The cool, crisp air, combined with the lush landscapes, made it a perfect spot for relaxation and reflection. We also explored the Botanical Gardens, home to a wide variety of plants, flowers, and trees. Students took part in a nature walk, learning about different plant species and the importance of preserving our natural heritage.

Next, we traveled to Kodaikanal, another picturesque hill station known for its enchanting views and tranquil atmosphere. Kodaikanal’s charm lies in its dense forests, mist-covered mountains, and serene lakes. We visited Kodaikanal Lake, where some of us tried our hand at cycling around the lake, while others simply enjoyed the calm beauty of the area. The Pillar Rocks and Coaker’s Walk offered stunning panoramic views, and we took countless photos to capture the natural splendor.

A major highlight of the trip was our visit to Berijam Lake, a hidden gem surrounded by dense forest. We were able to enjoy the peace and quiet, far from the crowds, as we explored the area and admired its untouched beauty. It was an incredible experience to witness such pristine surroundings and learn about the importance of conserving such places.

“An adventure of learning and discovery, where students step out of the classroom to explore, experience, and create lasting memories!”

3rd & 4th Field Trip – A TRIP TO THE ZOO

On August 30th, the enthusiastic students of 3rd and 4th standard from Embassy Public School went on an exciting field trip to Bannerghatta Zoo. The journey began with a cheerful bus ride filled with laughter and songs. As we reached the zoo, the students eagerly stepped in, ready to explore the fascinating world of wildlife. We saw a variety of animals, including the majestic tiger, playful monkeys and enormous elephants. The sight of a lion lazily resting under a tree thrilled everyone, while the colourful parrots and peacock left us mesmerized. The reptile cages with its slithering snakes and giant reptiles were both exciting and a little scary. We watched in awe as the animals paced gracefully in their enclosures. The experience was both educational and fun, as we learned about different species and their habitats. After a delicious packed lunch, we played games before heading back to school, carrying unforgettable memories. The trip was not just about seeing animals, it was also a wonderful bonding experience for students and teachers. Walking together, sharing snacks, and discussing our favourite animals brought everyone closer. The children asked curious questions, and teachers happily shared interesting facts. By the end of the day, we had not only learned a lot but also created special memories that will stay with us forever.

Mysore Sandal soap factory- an educational excursion where students leave their regular classroom setting to visit a location, allowing them to experience and learn about a preparation of Soaps and detergent first hand through direct observation and hands-on activities. It was a learning experience beyond the classroom walls.

This Field trip has promoted a deeper understanding of concepts, stimulating curiosity among the students, and developing critical thinking skills.

The day began with a journey of 30 mins and reached the destination. The guide welcomed students with a smile and took us to the auditorium. There they played videos of the history of soap ” How soap factory started in India”. We were proud of our Mysore and the Wodeyar family which was the first place to start a soap factory. The highlight of the field was visiting the garden where the sandal trees were grown and our students collected huge amounts of data about those trees. Later to the manufacturing area-speed the complete process of preparing soap.
